Commissions

I’ll touch on the process of commissions, as that is pretty much what I am doing in the studio these days (the phrase “work hard, play hard” seems to elude me. The first part I seem to do the most - which I have no complaints with).

As a former graphic designer/illustrator my job was to take others ideas and form a visual that best defines the thought.I like that process of working with people on a project and have learned to be explicit about expectations. I was uneasy in the beginning but now have a concrete path both the client and I can go down.

  1. Client must provide good quality photos of what they want. 2. I provide a rough and price 3. 1/2 deposit down 4. I provide the start, have their approval and paint from there. Once I am into it, the client needs to put their trust in me that I will make something that they love. 5. Email the final, get balance and ship.
